Client Ethnicity

Would love to be able to check more than one ethnicity in the client file. Right now if a client is of mixed ethnicity we have to choose one of the ethnicities or other. With more and more mixed ethnicity people out there another way to select would be nice.

Hi Mkmatjeka,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us! I have a couple questions in thinking through how that would look in Statistics. For example if Jane Doe was Hispanic and Caucasian she would be counted twice (once under Hispanic and once under Caucasian) so that could be misleading in seeing your numbers. How would you have this pull instead to avoid this?

Thank you,
Ashleigh

Not sure how it would look in statistics. Need to think about that aspect a little bit longer.

Mkmatjeka,
I look forward to hearing some possible work arounds, I definitely understand what you are trying to accomplish however that is where "other" comes into play, so you don't have skewed statistics. What about a "Mixed" or "Multi-ethnic" options?

Blessings,
Ashleigh

After thinking about it I think adding a 'Mixed' or 'Multi-ethnic' option would be a great way to address clients that check more than one box. I think 'other' implies that they are a minority ethnicity that is not listen. (Which they are.)

Hi Michaela,

Thanks so much for your forum post. Yes, I agree with you on this. We have discussed opening up to allow for multi-select on ethnicity. It is still being considered at this point, but we completely understand that it makes great sense to do so.

I will add this as a feature request from your center as well so that development is aware of your request. But it is definitely something that is currently under consideration!

We appreciate you taking the time to offer feedback to help make CenterPiece a better product for all users!
