Define active

On the general information page, under properties could you please define "active?" I understand it to mean that the client is "actively" participating in our programs. We close our files when the baby is 6 weeks old but the client can remain active until the baby is 2. Would her file be considered "active?" Thank you and I hope and pray that you have a Merry CHRISTmas and Blessed New Year!

Hi medrn,

Think of active status on a file as really just a filter option in the reports. For example, when running the Client Files mailing list report, you can include files with a status of "active" only. So you can define what "active/inactive" means at your center.

for a staff/volunteer files, marking a staff/vol file "inactive" will remove the file from the staff/volunteer drop down list on a the client forms. this keeps the list manageable on the client forms...particularly if the staff/vol no longer works at your center.

hope that helps!
