| I am trying to run a monthly donor report and would like it sorted by the file and not the individual donations. Is there a way to run a report like that? If not, can a request be submitted to add a "filter by file" option to the donation report? |

I have tried it three different ways:
1. Running the Donation Report: Search criteria by Monthly donors with the date. What that report is missing is the ability to get a total summary by file instead of the separate donations by each donor (i.e. Mr. Jones gave $600 for the first 6 months vs. Mr. Jones gave $100 in January, $100 in Feburary, $100 in March, etc).
2. Running the Donations by Designation-Same issue as #1.
3. Monthly Giving Report: Search criteria is the date for 6 months with consecutive months being False, since we have "monthly" donors who lump monthly payments together and give once a quarter. The problem with this report is that it still does not give a donation total by file (as explained in #1) and you can't sort by event (i.e. monthly donors). For example, we have churches that give monthly but are categorized differently for our records and should not be pulled with the regular monthly donors for the report I am trying to process.
The easiest solution seems to be using report #1 or #2 with an added criteria selection of file total and not the default of listing individual donations. |

Hi cjkinnas,
All reports let you resort the list by various column headers. Based on the info you provided above, it seems that your center has a Donor category set up of "monthly Donor" you are filtering by? If so, If you use the "Batch Receipts Report" but after running change the view from "Report" to "List" view, it will allow you to sort by column header of file id, Donor name, etc. But also provide the current month's giving (if you filter by just one month) it will be the Total Received for Period, and the next column will give you the Total Received Year to Date for the Donor. Also, you can see their total Gift count to date in the Donations Received column (i.e. 7, 8, etc,).
