1.mail merge
Posted by dgentile on 10/5/2007 11:05:54 AM
I'm trying to create a letter using mail merge. I need to create a new report to do it, or export a list of addresses to Excel. I can't seem to find a way to do either function! Could anyone walk me through this process? Thanks!
2.Report - Donations over $500
Posted by dgentile on 5/18/2005 2:26:36 PM
Hi Brian,

Our accountant has to give a list of checks received over the amount of $500 for tax purposes. I know that the top donors report can give you the top 100 donations, but is it possible to specify a dollar amount instead or in addition to the number of donations that you want shown in the report?
3.Donor Tracking
Posted by dgentile on 5/21/2007 11:02:58 AM
We have been going through a fundraiser analysis program by Life Stewards and several of their questions have required some way to filter the donor report by the number of times per year a donor has given. This is also becoming more necessary for discovering our most consistent donors verses just a donor group filtered by $ amount or percentage. We were wondering if you could include this option so we can look up who gives the largest 1 time gifts, who gives 2 or more times a year, etc... ...
4.Re: Donor Tracking
Posted by dgentile on 6/4/2007 4:54:01 PM
I have found them to be helpful in many areas but the information that has been asked of us had required knowing the number of times a donor donates per a specific time period like one year , not the $ amount. I realize there is a column in the donor report that says how many donations a donor has given but that is a secondary function and time consuming to sort though by hand. I was able to export the reports to an excel page and sort data by the "# of donations column" but it would ...
5.Tracking one time gifts
Posted by dgentile on 3/6/2007 12:40:04 PM
I am new to this system and am being asked to track # of donors giving partivular amounts in a ONE TIME gift over a years worth of time. How can I collect this information simply from Centerpiece. I haven't noticed a way to specify if a gift was a "one time" gift verses an accrual of a particular amount.

Thank you

6.difficulty printing receipt
Posted by dgentile on 1/19/2007 10:05:41 AM
I need to print a few donor receipts, one at a time but am having difficulty. I type in the donor name in the Reports section and the database recognizes it but when I run report the page that comes up is blank, no name, no receipt letter,etc... I tried to run a report on every one and then just find the name and print it but I couldn't figure out the actual page number of the name or get the print selection to include the choice "print current page" - What is the easiest way to ...
7.Consolidating donors
Posted by dgentile on 12/7/2005 3:54:37 PM
Hi Brian,

In trying to consolidate our donors list today after our Christmas mailing, I accidentally deleted a donor that had a history of donations. Luckily, I had our old software to go back to to look up the information. I also used the statistics report to get yesterday's data to find the missing amount. Had I realized it by tomorrow morning, the statistics report would have already been updated and my mistake would not have been able to be corrected.

8.Re: Consolidating donors and/or clients, search by address

Brian,

Thanks - I know the CPC will appreciate these changes in donor management.

It's been a pleasure working with you.

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Just wondering if a search by address or the ability to copy donor history from one to another is something that is being considered for a future release?
10.Re: Consolidating donors and/or clients, search by address

Hi Sarah,

Two big benefits in donor management would be to add:

searching by address - to prevent unnecessary duplicates - ie husband, wife, child at same address.

on donor search screen: instead of showing birthdate, show spouse since we never know the donors birthdate. Birthdate makes sense in client management, but not in donor management. Spouse would help prevent duplicates.

Thank you for the functionality that does not allow us to delete a donor with other records attached ... this has been really helpful!

When we find duplicate donors, where information is under both names and we want to consolidate, it would be really helpful if we could move all records attached to Donor New to Donor Old and then delete Donor New. This is the same for clients also. Right now, I have to manually input the information under Donor Old, delete it from Donor New, ...
12.User account with no update capability just Reporting for Board Members
Posted by dgentile on 10/14/2006 7:39:13 AM
Hi Brian,

The capability of being able to reach our data from any internet connection is great for keeping Board Members up to date on Center statistics, however, they should not have the ability to update any information, just view reports. Is it possible to set up something in Administration for a User type that only has access to bringing up reports from either/both client and donor systems? It would be a kind of Browse only view where the controls on the page would not be ...

Hi Sarah,

I just want the search to use "Last name and Organization" like the donor screen search engine uses instead of using just "lastname" or just "organization".

16.Events - adding sponsors
Posted by dgentile on 5/1/2006 9:46:24 AM
Hi Brian,

In event processing, when adding donors to a specific group, in the drop down list for the name search, can the search be for both last names and company name? Currently if it is stored as a business, and there is a last name of the owner/contact, it will not find the last name in the search on the drop down box.

It will find the business name if it is stored as a business.
It will find the last name, if it is stored as a person

We are trying to consolidate our donor database to reduce costs when doing mailings. For that reason, when a person that donates has a business and uses their business account, we put the donor in under their business with first and last name as the contact person. So in the event processing, I need the search engine to work the same way as it does in donor management search screen, where you can choose to search by last name and organization at the same time.
18.Re: printing donor receipts - using MS Word
Posted by dgentile on 11/2/2006 10:13:34 AM
Hi Brian,

This works when I export to a web page, choose open, and then file print from Internet explorer. For Microsoft Word, however, when I choose export to Word, then click open, the file is all in html and will print out the html instead of how the html is viewed in a webpage.
19.CPC Group Medical Benefits Question
Posted by dgentile on 10/14/2006 7:49:21 AM
Does anyone know of a group medical insurance policy for employees of CPC's? Currently our Center does not offer medical for our employees because it is so expensive since we are so small. Do you know of any group medical insurance that we can join that is affordable? Is there anything available through Ekyros?
20.Events
Posted by dgentile on 8/29/2006 2:47:52 PM
Hi Brian,

We've been using the event programming for our banquets and it has been working out great - thanks! I have one suggestion, only because this can cause confusion.

If you go in through the event, add a group (ie Table1), and then a sponsor (ie Sponsor1), you can view the sponsor on the event sponsors tab when group Table1 is chosen from the "Show:" drop down box.

However, if the event already exists, and the group already ...

I went in today to see what the statistics report shows.

The donation that was entered via the <files>search by last name, then enter the donation with the event of <Banquet 2006> and the Group of <Table 1> does show up on the statistics report under Table 1 in the banquet 2006 event.

However, when you go in via the events tab, edit Banquet 2006, click on the sponsors tab, and select the Table 1 group, that donor does not show up in the ...
22.Re: Searching for names with apostrophes
Posted by dgentile on 7/10/2006 9:51:49 AM
Not being able to search for an apostrophe in a last name is causing our staff to enter names more than once, since the search comes up without any results and they believe that the person is not in the database. Since we are able to enter the names in with apostrophes, we should be able to search for names wth apostrphes.

Is there any estimate as to when this will be fixed?
23.Re: Searching for names with apostrophes
Posted by dgentile on 7/10/2006 10:15:06 AM
When printing batch receipts, the search engine there allows for apostrophes in the last name. You can probably use that code in the donor name search engine.

Hi Sarah,

I just tried to search in both donor management and client management for d'erico and got "invalid character in search value" again.

Was this fix released?
25.Common information between Donor/Client/Staff
Posted by dgentile on 1/25/2006 10:49:58 AM
Hi Brian,

I have input all of our churches under donor management. When I went into Staff, to put our volunteer client advocates, the church information is blank. I realize that you have these built as separate systems, but the church information could be common to all three.

It seems unnecessary to have to input again, and there is a chance that information will only get updated in one place and not the other.
